Message for our Chairman

Dear Member,

Despite the wet ground, there is a lot going on to prepare for the forthcoming season. PLEASE READ, NOTE AND ACTION the following:

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL
Due to the ongoing poor weather, we have had very little income (with continued outgoings) since November. For our survival, it is critical that you renew your membership ASAP – please go to https://haltonaeroclub.co.uk/membership/ and follow the instructions.

IER DUTY – CONDITION OF MEMBERSHIP
To continue to operate at weekends, we must provide members to act as Immediate Emergency Response. This is a non-negotiable requirement and a condition of membership. There will be a change to way this will be managed – you will be given the opportunity to choose a date – where this is not received, a date will be allocated to you. It will be enacted during the membership renewal process.

FLYING THE TYPHOON – TUE 4 MAR – 1930hrs
Our new Secretary, Sqn Ldr David Taudevin, will be giving a talk this coming Tuesday about his experiences flying the RAF Typhoon. This is a unique opportunity. Arrive early for a seat and bring cash for the bar!

AIRFIELD CLOSURE – SAT 1 / SUN 2 MAR
Due to very short-notice infra work leading to a loss of electricity, the Airfield will be closed this weekend. This is a good news story as it will see the end to the long-running saga of power failures. Plus, the surface is too wet anyway… It will also give us the chance to start the clubhouse redecoration. My thanks goes to Karl Smith for his professional role in this – also to Nigel Marshall, Arthur Gill and Graham Bartlett who have completed the prep work.

PA-28 G-BPRY
‘RY’ is on its way to LX Avionics for a major upgrade. It will be back with us at the end of March in time for the season.

SPRING CLEAN – SUN 30 MAR – 1000-1230hrs
Get this into your diary now. More details to follow.

Meteorological Spring starts tomorrow and we must be ready to start the flying season in good order. Please play your part in this.

Regards,

Mark
