Dear Member,

I hope this note finds you in good health.  Please take time to read through the following HAC update.

Covid-19 Mitigation Measures.

We are pleased to hear that our JRPSS Student has tested negative for Covid; however, our thoughts and support remain with him for a speedy recovery of his mother.  This situation has come at a useful juncture and serves as a good reminder that this virus is all around us.  Consequently, I have reviewed our Risk Assessment and am content that it is fit for purpose – however, this is only a true statement if the measures are conducted correctly by everyone.

I would therefore like to remind you of the following:

–  If you are exhibiting symptoms or have tested positive for the virus, you must follow UK law – do not travel to the airfield.

–  If there is any other reason that you suspect you may be carrying the virus (track & trace, personal contact, etc), you must follow UK law and not travel to the airfield.

–  Read, understand and follow the HAC Covid Risk Assessment and broader UK Gov health guidelines.

In addition:

–  If you are a person or live with a person suffering severe health issues – do not travel to the airfield.

–  If you are a person that is at risk of losing employment if tested positive – do not travel to the airfield.

YOU are responsible for YOUR SAFETY.  However, General Aviation is a discretionary activity and the latter 2 points will now be in place with immediate effect to minimise exposure to the those most at risk from the virus and its potential downstream consequences.

Until there is a vaccine, this Pandemic will continue.  Meantime, we need to adhere to the ‘new normal’ mitigations and ensure that the HAC is in a good place for the future.

Stay Safe!
