Dear Member,
I hope this email finds you well. Please take time to read the following important HAC update:
HAC Social – Tue 6th October 1900hrs – RAFA Clubhouse
This opportunity for us to meet is too good to miss. No speaker, no food, just a great chance to catch-up with your flying buddies (socially distanced, of course) and look forward to better times. See you in the RAFA Clubhouse/bar (at the airfield gate).
Tailwheel Differences Training
Tailwheel training is now available on G-ATVF (Chipmunk). The course is 5 hours (minimum) and all flying is dual. The hourly cost is £139 GBP for the aircraft, plus £35 for instruction. This is hugely competitive and provides a brilliant opportunity to improve your aircraft handling skills and gain this Rating. For further information, please email David Smith at david.smith@haltonaeroclub.co.uk
IER Training
The process for IER Training is being made easier. It will soon be:
– Self study package on HAC website. Print certificate.
– Attend fire training (self-booked).
Once this change is in place, we will send a further email. Meantime, those nominated for IER duties from 26 Sep must be booked onto fire training ASAP (please call JK if unsure).
PA-28 Towing Arm
Once again the PA-28 towing arm has been broken with possible damage to the aircraft bracket. Until we have had the aircraft inspected, do not use a towing arm – push the aircraft by hand. To be clear – if you break it, admit what you have done and expect to pay for it. The Club cannot continue to cover this unnecessary expense – the last associated aircraft repair cost us £600. If you don’t know how to use a towing arm, speak to any staff member.
Airfield Toilet
HAC Members may now use the left hand side of the toilet block (facing the block from the HAC entrance door).
Airfield Opening Hours
The airfield is now back to normal operating hours 7-days a week (0900-2000hrs or SS+30 whichever the earliest). The EBS reflects this.
Car Park
The airfield car park will be resurfaced – spaces to park will be available whilst work is in progress.
Guest Flying
There is still a restriction on non-members visiting the Airfield. You will be told when this changes.
We have had an excellent, safe return to flying ops. Well done to all that have successfully recommenced flying. My thanks goes to the Instructors who have made this a reality. For those that have not regained currency, don’t let the summer slip away – the clocks change in just 6 weeks!
Stay Safe,
Mark
