Improving communications

We are in the process of adding in email addresses for some of the regular members of the club, particularly those on the committee, or provide supporting services to the committee and employees. You can find the ones that are active by visiting the following page, however you will need a password before you view it because it is confidential to the club. The page is in the footer menu and called Email Directory (the link will open in a new browser window).

Newsletter

The website has a newsletter function built into it. If you want to receive news from HAC, you can sign up to the newsletter on this page: Newsletter. (link opens in a new browser window). These will  be sent out around once per month, Ops Massives, will be sent more regularly. These messages will carry links back to content on the website. All members are encouraged to sign up to the newsletter. We cannot do this for you. You can however unsubscribe yourself if it is not right for you.

Bulk Mailing

We are also looking at the feasibility of sending messages out to the membership using a different method than the one that has been used in the past. You may receive messages from me (Mark Wingrove) over the next two weeks while we run some tests to make sure we do not receive too many error messages coming back. If you are not sure of the legitimacy of these messages check back on the website to see if there is any news on them. They will not ask you to do anything at this stage, all we are testing is to make sure your email address exists.  There will be two special email addresses that Jon Kumela (Ops Manager) & Mike Russell (Membership Secretary) can use to reach everybody in the future.

Update: 27/01/20

A successful test was carried out today to check the number of bounce back messages we would receive from a new email forwarding system. This has been set up to assist with communications for the club using members registered email addresses. Out of 144 email addresses we only saw 4 failures.
