Dear Member,

DO NOT TRAVEL TO RAF HALTON UNTIL YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD ALL OF THE FOLLOWING

We are slowly returning towards more-normal ops.  However, some restrictions have not changed.  Please take to read (and fully observe) the following reminders and changes:

VISITORS – Are still not permitted at RAF Halton Airfield.  Anyone that comes to the HAC must be a member, staff or someone involved in support to HAC Ops or engineering of aircraft. Visiting aircraft to Halton are not permitted.

OVER-70s – Shielding of over-70s from Halton Airfield finishes in line with UK Gov guidance.  Therefore, we look forward to welcoming these loyal members back to Halton from Mon 3 Aug 20 onward  However, any member that is classified as Clinically, or Extremely Clinically vulnerable is to contact me ASAP.

CONCURRENT POWERED FLYING & GLIDING – Will be trialed on the afternoon of Wed 5 Aug 20.  If successful, we will go back to 7-day/week ops starting Sat 8 Aug 20.  Concurrent powered flying/gliding will be Wed afternoons and weekends thereafter.  All members (irrespective of when flying) are to be fully familiar with relevant procedures.  If in doubt, ASK or DON’T FLY.

FULL OPENING HOURS – Will be reviewed on 14 Aug 20.  Until then, hours are 0900-1700hrs (L).  When this changes, the EBS will reflect available hours.

LAND-AWAYS – Are permitted in accordance with Club Rules.

IER TRAINING – Will take place on Sat 15 Aug and Sat 26 Sep 20 (1000-1300hrs Airfield Ops followed by Fire Section).  IER is a commitment which forms part of the terms of membership for Licenced Pilots – email opsman@haltonaeroclub.org.uk to book your place now.

COVID PROTECTION – Is in place for everyone’s safety.  There is to be no more than 2 people in the Ops Room and no more than 2 people in the Planning Room at a time.  2 Metre distancing is to be observed.  No more than a group of 6 when outside.  Additional mitigation is in place whilst flying – your instructor will ensure compliance in the aircraft, but you are equally responsible at all times.

AIRCRAFT DOCUMENTATION – Arrive prepared with the relevant Weight/Balance/Performance docs downloaded and complete.  Know what docs must be carried on board the aircraft.  Weather and NOTAMs should be sorted from home – the facilities at the HAC should be used only by exception or in the event of suspected late changes.

IF YOU FEEL UNWELL – Or are exhibiting the symptoms of Coronavirus, follow current UK Gov guildelines and DO NOT TRAVEL TO RAF HALTON!

Stay Safe, Fly Safe, See You Soon,

Mark
