NEW CFI APPOINTED

Steve Thorogood, our CFI, after decades of flying instruction, has decided to hang-up his Instructor’s Qualification. It will not be ‘goodbye’, as he will continue with RT instruction and will take on the new role of Assistant Head of Training. I am sure that you will join me in thanking him for his work as DCFI and CFI. It is therefore, with great pleasure that I am able to give you the good news that with effect from 1 Nov 24, Deacon Brown will become the HAC CFI. This is a well deserved promotion and rightly recognises the hard work he has put in as the Fulltime FI (a role in which he will continue) and DCFI. And lastly, I am delighted to announce that the crucial supporting role of DCFI will go to Richard Bull. Whilst a relatively new addition to our instructional cadre, Richard has been quick to take on other responsibilities (including Safeguarding Officer) and will provide the important support and assistance that Deacon requires in his dual CFI/FTFI role.  We will formally mark the occasion at our Christmas Social on Tue 10 Dec 24, in the meantime, please join me in saying thank you and congratulations!
