Dear Member,

A few important updates  for you:

HAC TASK DAY  A big thanks to everyone who participated in the HAC Task Day this weekend. We generated 30 sorties and had a HAC pilot airborne continuously throughout the flying day. Big thanks also to Rob Churchward for donating and cooking the food for the evening BBQ!

TUES SOCIAL – AIRCRAFT ENGINES – TUE 7 JUL
The next Tuesday Social is just 2-weeks away. This looks at the important topic of the one thing that stops your powered aircraft from becoming a glider! Things you never knew but will be glad you do. See you then.

HAC UK TOUR – THU 10-SAT 12 SEP
This 3-day mini exped will be advertised soon. It will be oversubscribed and so it is important to put your bid in as soon as you receive the email. The commitment will be attendance on 2 planning meetings, plus be available for the main dates (above) plus weather slippage to the 13th Sep. Each crew will fly roughly 8 hours in 3 days (split half PIC). Details to follow.

Regards,
Mark

Martin Baker Visit 20 Feb 26

Martin Baker Visit 20 Feb 26

We had a very interesting guided tour of the Martin Baker manufacturing plant at Higher Denham.  Unfortunately only three from HAC, Arthur, Brian and myself,  the others in the group are friends from The Museum of Berkshire Aviation and the Joystick Club.

Everyone we met at Martin Baker were most welcoming and it is evidently a very family friendly organisation, still run by John and James Martin, sons of Sir James Martin, the company founder. It must be the only  large privately owned family run company in the world of aviation, world leaders in their class. The company supports local charities, in particular the Thames Valley Hospice, in recognition of this our group donated £120 to this hospice on behalf of Martin Baker.
