Happy New Year to All HAC members.
Your Committee met on 18 Dec 24 (Minutes on Planning Room noticeboard) and agreed a number of points that you should be aware of.
- As our Chairman mentioned in his New Year Message, a Winter Work Programme has been approved and funded. Watch out for calls for volunteers!
- Nigel Marshall will lead on redecorating the Clubhouse and Jon Lee will get and fit new blinds for the crew room so that our Clubhouse better befits our Centenary.
- We will also need a small work party to “declutter” the Clubhouse as we have many items that serve no purpose and are just gathering dust!
- We will be repositioning the ac cleaning facility to make it more convenient and useful.
- We are establishing a small “Welcome Team” to make the induction of new members into HAC more user-friendly. Sam Davis will lead the team assisted by Rachel Willson and they will act as the first Point of Contact for new members working alongside Deacon and me to make their assimilation into HAC both effective and pleasant.
- We are also (re) introducing monthly checks of licence expiry and currency. See the recent post on T Cards for details.
- To avoid unhelpful “block booking” of ac, members are only to book 2 slots in any given week. If one of those slots is cancelled then it can be rebooked so that at no time has any member got more than 2 bookings in a 7 days period. There will, of course, be exceptional occasions when it makes sense to break this rule; in these cases the CFI and Ops Mgr have authority to approve additional bookings.
- From the recent Airfield Users Group meeting.
- Fire trg on new 100L extinguisher will take place in coming months. Two Saturday dates in Feb/Mar 25 have been requested
- Reminder to ALL to wait for barrier to close before proceeding in/out of AF.
- Hangar 1 roof unstable in winds >30kts, hence car park closure prior to Xmas. If debris found, report it, do not touch (may be asbestos).
- A gentle reminder that the Planning and Ops Rooms are both working areas when pilots are preparing for flights. Please try to keep socialising outside these rooms if a fellow pilot is getting ready to go flying.
- Finally, see the recent post on the new HAC FOB. There are some important changes.
