Self Authorisation
Members who wish to be self-authorising are reminded of FOB Order 1.3.6, viz:
1.3.6 Self-authorisation is a privilege for Club members and is granted at the discretion of the Executive Committee (comprising: Chairman, Deputy Chairman, CFI, DCFI and Ops Manager). The following rules apply:
- PPL and LAPL/NPPL holders require 50 hours PIC post-issue of licence, or successful issue of IR(R)/IR/IMC/CPL and 5 hours flying within the last 6 months, 3 hours (of those 5 hours) must be PIC on SEP at RAF Halton.
- Initial application for this privilege is to be made to the CFI and will be reviewed annually on 1 January. Those granted continuation of this privilege will be required to countersign their self-authorising certificate.
- Pilots who have self-authorisation privileges who do not meet the 6 months currency requirements or who self-authorise when the above criteria are not met will have this privilege automatically withdrawn.
