Dear Member,
A quick update from the HAC. Yesterday, we received some sad news that our former Ops Manager, Mike Howard, had suffered a heart attack. We understand that he is in the capable care of Harefield Hospital, but further details are unknown at this time. We will update you when more is known.
The Halton Aero Club plays an important part at RAF Halton Airfield, RAF Sport Aircraft (RAFSA), Junior Rank Pilot Scholarship training – it is our most active members and staff that make this possible and allow the Club to be seen in the best light. Apologies if I have missed anyone!
Station Commander Flying Prep
I would like to thank Oliver Flanagan, Adam Norton (and Daughter), Adam Williams and Mark Anderson for the dozens of hours’ cleaning of the Hangar, Clubhouse and G-EDGA in preparing for the Stn Cdr to fly with us. Unfortunately, the weather precluded the flying on the day, but I am most grateful for their contribution.
RAF Halton Families Day
Yesterday The HAC made a fantastic contribution to the Stn Families Day. My thanks goes to Deacon, Adi, Jonathon Smith, Nigel Marshall, Charlie Moss and our Junior Rank pilot Scholar, Josh Flood. A great team effort that involved many hours of answering questions, aircraft tours, handing out HAC flyers and trial lessons. A tiring but really worthwhile day. Well done!
What have you done for your Club lately? The Stn Cdr flying with the HAC has been rescheduled for Thu 22 Jul 21 – please speak to Adi for a list of jobs that will need doing in the days prior.
And Finally… Congratulations to the Airfield Duty Manager, Guy Davidson. After 2 Lockdowns of growing hair, he finally had it all shaven to raise money for the Royal Air Forces’ Association (RAFA).
A collection tin is in the HAC Crewroom. The following picture shows the half-finished version…
