Dear Member,

Please read through this important HAC update:

COVID MEASURES

In-line with national changes, a Risk Assessment (RA) of our Covid mitigation measures has been completed. The RA is contained in the RA book in HAC Ops; the headlines are:

– Clubhouse One-Way System – discontinued, please give people space when moving around the HAC.
– Max Occupancy of Rooms – discontinued, please ensure rooms are ventilated and maximise social distance.
– Masks in Aircraft Flying Dual – continued. Also, continue to sanitise aircraft controls.
– Lateral Flow Tests are available for members.
– Temperature Check, Washing & Sanitising Hands – continued.
DO NOT TRAVEL TO HALTON IF YOU ARE UNWELL. INFORM US IMMEDIATELY IF YOU TEST POSITIVE.

I hope to be able to resume the Tuesday Evening Programme in October or November.

TECNAM SIERRA

We hope to collect the aircraft on Wednesday this week. Instructors will regain currency over the coming days and it will be returned to the EBS from Mon 16th August for dual checks and solo hire.

ELECTRICITY

Full power has been restored to the Airfield through a large generator installation. Please be aware of extra speed bumps along Aviation Avenue.

MINI EXPED

RAF Force Development training has been reinstated, which gives us clearance to start planning for the Mini Exped. Those who responded by email to my update sent 18 Jun 21 will be contacted over the next week. A small planning team is meeting tonight to start the process.

FUTURE FUEL

The days of 100LL AVGAS may be coming to an end. 100 Octane Unleaded has just been given clearance for GA use in the US and will hopefully go into production soon. All aircraft currently kept at RAF Halton should be able to use this new fuel. Details to follow in due course.

FLYING PROGRAMME

The flying programme is full! For students – speak to your Instructor and book your next instructed slots before you leave the Club. For PPL holders, book your slots ASAP. FOR EVERYONE – BOOK ONLY WHAT YOU INTEND TO FLY AND ARRIVE IN GOOD TIME.

SOCIAL MEDIA

James Lawrence is doing an outstanding job in raising the profile of the HAC. Please provide him with fresh material by sending stories/ideas/photos to socialmedia@haltonaeroclub.co.uk
