Dear Member,
This message follows yesterday’s HAC Update and today’s announcement by the Dept for Transport and CAA which can be found through the link at the end of this email. In short, solo recreational flying and flying with members of the same household is now allowable in England (no change in Scotland/Wales). There is no change to broader dual flying whether instructional or not.
However, as a Royal Air Force Sport Aviation (RAFSA) Club, the HAC is subject to UK Armed Forces Sports Board rules. The current direction (dated 13 May 20) is that RAF Sport remains suspended – this will be reviewed on 4 Jun 20 to coincide with the UK Gov review of COVID Restrictions.
As I stated yesterday, we will continue to monitor developments and plan our return to flying operations at the earliest and safest opportunity.
