Season’s Greetings members!

Here are the final messages for 2019.

HAUG/FS READOUT – Members are notified of the following points on request of the meeting Chairman:

• Skips outside 4H are becoming untidy with rubbish left lying around please would all HAC members using the skips observe segregation and use bags.
• The RAFA is closed from19 Dec.
• To simplify the process for Airfield Club members Ops Sqn shall issue Purple (car) Passes valid 1 yr, an implementation guide and timetable shall follow meanwhile, members are reminded that their RAF Halton Social and Vehicle Passes are only valid for 6-months and the MGR Passes & permits Staff shall not be sending reminders.
• From 1 Apr 2020 the whole of RAF Halton site shall be a non-tobacco product smoking site, the implementation document is expected in the New Year.
• OC Ops advises that the Old workshops site should be deposed of by 2022 whilst the rest of the estate remains until 2025 meaning the HOE should liaise with DIO for continued use of the airfield.

SECURITY  – Is a collective responsibility and whilst Security personnel are employed to serve that function at RAF Halton their effort is multiplied by our constant vigilance and understanding:

• 3H Fire Doors were reported left open so members are reminded to be vigilant when leaving the premises. HAC Local Operating procedures (Blue Folder under T-Cards) suggest a process to ensure no element of security is missed during lock-up.
• Members are reminded that after long periods of closure Op Wideawake should be carried out by the first occupant of HAC, simple details are next to the fax in HAC Ops or above the phones in OpsMan office.
• Op Roundup details are similarly positioned and should be implemented when informed of intruders.
• The Electronic barrier should not be abandoned in the up position allowing tail-gaters – wait until it has lowered, otherwise the identity should be confirmed for all wishing to enter the airfield, if there is any doubt ask RAF Halton Staff for help.

HUSBANDRY – Personal care of facilities and equipment:

• Please ensure the common parts of the club premises are left clean and tidy for the next members to enjoy, pre-Christmas clean-up has been done in the hope that a post-Christmas clean-up is not required (we do not employ cleaners).
• Aircraft have been cleaned ready for use and sufficient copies of consumable documents provided if we ever fly again!
• The RAFFCA Member assumes the responsibility of the OIC and DOIC during their OOA and the OpsMan returns to UK 2 Jan 20.
• G-CZ shall be locked into the hangar at LDA Denham from 23 Dec to 2 Jan 20 as the airfield state at Halton has not allowed its recovery. Thereafter the situation shall be reviewed.
• Those members who have volunteered for renovation projects are free to conduct work over the holidays and are requested to inform the MGR if they are lone-working.

TRAINING – The EBS show the availability of aircraft and instructors whilst the Halton Ops Site shows the availability of the airfield and closure days.

• FTFI remains available for Sim and GS sessions throughout the holidays.
• Members are reminded that flights from any other airfield in non-Halton aircraft do not count for HAC currency.

Looking after the club’s equipment is not an annual affair here at Halton Aero Club. Members are expected to take their fair share of the functions, which enables the club to provide its many benefits. In this example, one of the club’s towing buggies is getting some routine maintenance and a wash and brush up. This ensures these assets are available when you need them.
