Please take time to read through the following HAC update:
IMMEDIATE EMERGENCY RESPONSE (IER)
The Station Commander has made a pragmatic decision on the IER requirements as follows:
- – Only the ‘lead’ person needs to be fire trained. This duty will always be covered by the Airfield Manager/Ops.
- – Club IER is an ‘assistant’ to the Airfield Manager and is therefore not required to complete fire training.
- – 2 people are required to cover IER 0900-1700hrs – Mon-Fri, this will be covered by Ops staff.
- – After 1700hrs (Mon-Sun), due to reduced activity, only ‘lead’ IER person is required.
- – During periods of leave/holiday of Ops Staff (Mon-Fri), an ‘assistant’ must be nominated by one of the Clubs.
- – Weekends/Bank Hols (0900-1700hrs) – 2 people are required, an ‘assistant’ must be nominated by one of the Clubs.
Adi is coordinating this for the HAC – YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL SOON WITH IER ASSISTANT DATES – ALL HAC MEMBERS (LICENSED AND STUDENTS) ARE EXPECTED TO ACT AS IER AT LEAST ONCE ANNUALLY – THIS IS PART OF THE TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP.
FLEET NEWS
- G-BNKI – Metal has been found in the engine oil. The engine has been removed and sent to Norvic for inspection. We will let you know details when received.
- G-BVTM – Goes to Enstone on Mon 24 Jan for a 100 hour service. Expected to be back online Wed 26 Jan.
- G-EDGA – Fresh back from annual service. Have you always flown the C-152s? Why not try out GA with an instructor?
- G-HACS – Serviceable with plenty of hours until the next service. Have you always flown the C-152s or PA-28? Why not try out CS with an instructor?
SOCIAL PROGRAMME
We will continue to monitor the Covid situation and look to reinstate the programme when safe.
SAFE TAXYING
Take care whilst taxying into/around the fuel compound. Never taxy with a wing over the barriers irrespective of height difference. If in doubt, stop the engine, get out and push.
FOB CHANGES
There will be changes to the FOB over the coming weeks. These will include changes to dual check requirements for all pilots and currency days for recently-licensed pilots. When the changes go live, you will be informed and placed in the RED.
AIRFIELD
Following some dry weather, the Airfield is in very good condition. With the days getting longer and a 10-day relatively dry weather forecast, now is the time to get booking and flying.
