Dear Member,

Please take time to read the following HAC news:

SAFETY & SOCIAL EVENING – WED 15 DEC

Details to follow soon…. However, get this in your diaries now!

FLEET RENTAL – PRICE INCREASE

With effect from 1 Dec 21, the HAC Fleet rental charges will be increased. This will be the first increase in 4 years. The HAC has deliberately kept its prices at the 2017 rate over the 2-year Covid period as a display of loyalty to our members. However, we can no longer continue at these rates – the new (solo hire) rates will be:

C-152 – £119/hr
PA-28 – £145/hr
Tecnam – £135/hr

Instructional charges remain unchanged. Membership rates will be reviewed in early 2022.

BUY-FORWARD

Members wishing to ‘buy-forward’ flying prior to 1 Dec 21 will be able to purchase flying at the current rate. This may be done as either 5 or 10 hours’ flying. This will be flown-off at the current rate until 1 Apr 22, thereafter, the new rates (above) will be chargeable. Please email Adi at opsman@haltonaeroclub.co.uk (email title ‘Buy-Forward’) ASAP if you wish to buy-forward. This must be done as a new application and will not apply to existing money in accounts.

ENGINEERING BASE

After 2 years of using LDA at Denham as our engineering base, we have decided to move to Enstone. Whilst not as close and convenient as Denham, we believe that this move will significantly benefit the HAC. As always, we will charge ‘engineering-related’ flying transits at a reduced rate. We will also seek a pool of volunteer drivers to cover times when airborne personnel moves are not possible.

MIKE HOWARD

We are delighted to say that our former-Ops Manager is on the mend. We look forward to seeing him over the Christmas period.

ORDER BOOKS

RAF Halton and HAC Order Books (etc) are in the process of update. All members will be placed in the RED when the new versions go live.

RAF FLYING SCHOLARSHIPS

We have received fantastic news that there will be a total of 18 Junior Rank/Officer Pilot Scholarships awarded for 2022 (plus 5 Top-Up Schemes). We hope to see around one third of those at the HAC next Summer.

2022 FLYING SEASON

There is much to look forward to in 2022. The yearly calendar is being pulled together now and for the first time in 2 years, we are quietly confident that it won’t just be a ‘paper exercise’.  What are YOU going to try new in 22?

Stay Safe!
