I suppose we have all flown over our home locations at some point or another, just to see it from a different perspective. At the end of a flying lesson I had a few minutes to spare and asked Deacon if we could fly over Prestwood in Bucks which is where I live. It is 3-4 minutes from Halton by air. Deacon took control and I took a short video sequence below and posted that to friends on my Facebook feed, and to the local community.
It was widely viewed with lots of “Likes” but then I had a couple of enquiries. One came from someone associated with the local primary school, and then a teacher contacted me. The school happened to be in the centre of the video as we circled around. More by accident than design. The school asked if they could have a copy of the video as it would be very useful as a teaching aid when talking about maps and plans. Children would have the opportunity to relate their village from the air to maps of the same area. I provided them with a copy.
