HAC Exped – 20-24 Sep 2021

Whilst we have set the dates for the ‘lite’ UK Exped, the expected RAF Sports Board announcement for the resumption of ‘Force Development’ activities has been postponed. Obviously, this follows the recent UK Gov delay to full lifting of Covid Restrictions. Should you wish to register an interest in the Exped, please REPLY TO THIS EMAIL and PROVIDE YOUR FULL NAME. We will commence planning activities once greater clarity exists.

HAC Part-Time Instructor – Bob Tandy

Bob Tandy is back in the UK and has committed to instructing at the HAC until the end of Aug 2021. His availability will be reflected on the EBS soon.

Social Media Rep – James Lawrence

Hopefully you have noticed the outstanding articles on FaceBook by James Lawrence https://facebook.com/haltonaeroclub . He has managed to more than double our following in just 6-weeks and exponentially increase the visit rate. However, these articles won’t write or photograph themselves, so he has asked for material to keep the momentum going. Please send suitable photos and stories to him at socialmedia@haltonaeroclub.co.uk

HAC AGM

Once endorsed, a copy of the HAC Accounts will be placed on the HAC Crewroom Noticeboard. For obvious reasons, the Financial Year of 20/21 is not pretty! However, through prudent financial planning, we are in a really good place going forward. There is no intention to run a live or virtual AGM this year, this will be put back until Apr 22. All requirements from a Companies’ House perspective for the current period will be met.

The long-range weather forecast from the middle of next week is looking good. Get booking!

Dear Member,

RAF HALTON (OR ANY) ATZ – DOES IT OFFER YOU PROTECTION?

Numerous incursions in the ATZ over the past few weeks have demonstrated the requirement to remain vigilant and keep an effective lookout whilst in the circuit.  Treat circuit flying as if you are in uncontrolled, busy Class G Airspace!  

In addition, report any strangers whether fixed wing, gliders or drones immediately to Ops on 130.425 and when safely on the ground, consider Inform/Airprox follow-up.

Please take time to read the following important information:

Security

During the week, the RAF Police conducted an exercise on the Airfield. A suspect package was placed at the entrance to 2 Hangar and monitored by the team. Two people were observed to walk past the obvious package and ignore it. Whilst at RAF Halton, you must remember to:

• Keep your wits about you.
• Immediately report anything or anyone that you think suspicious.
• Ensure your name is on any bags/rucksacks (etc) that you bring to the HAC. 
• HAC Key-fobs (available from Adi) also assist in identifying your kit.
• Ensure your Pass and Club Membership Card (or MOD F90 for Service pers) are up to date.
• Close-up all doors, windows, blinds, lights and fuel compound if you are last to leave the Club.

Aircraft Fleet

The Tecnam and 3rd C-152 will be returned to the flying programme over the next 2-weeks.  Watch the EBS.

Sat 3 Jul – Station Families Day (RAF Halton-based families only due to Covid restrictions, but 4 volunteers required to run the HAC static display – please reply to this email).

Sun 4 Jul – Flyout to Henstridge (LAA Tour).

Sat 17 Jul – Virtual Air Tattoo.

Aug-Sep (TBC) Flyouts to Breighton and Shobdon.

20-24 Sep – HAC UK Mini Exped – precise details TBC, but likely to be 3 nights/4 days.

TBD – Restart of Tuesday Social Evenings.
